An abstract, fictitious religious ceremony, created by a juggling atheist.
A solo piece which seeks to explore where jugging might fit in a rural folk tradition; Heathen imagines what a juggling piece would feel like, were it steeped in ritual and religion.
Heathen will take place in it’s own temple, an open-framed geodesic dome. Inside the dome will sit a small audience of of around 15 people, who will see the unique performance up close- creating a concentrated atmosphere of intimacy and tension. A larger audience will surround the dome, seeing the performance framed by the congregation.
